

Joseph “Jay” Bernard Rink III, 47 years of age, died peacefully in his sleep from complications associated with ALS on June 6, 2015. He is survived by his father, Joseph Bernard Rink Jr.; his mother, Patsy Hebert Rink; his wife, Michelle; his children, Joseph, Olivia, Gracie, Sophie, and John; his stepchildren, Ryan and Ross Brister and Brooke Story; his sisters, Shannon Bell (Chris) and Lynn Crozier (Rick); and his nieces and nephews, Christopher, Zachary, Caroline, Emma, Quint, Julianna, Cameron, Millie, Isabella, and Georgia. Special thanks to Jackie Naquin and Torree Johnson for their wonderful care and heartfelt dedication. The Rink family could not have gone through this journey without them. Jay was a standout football player and state wrestling, heavyweight champion at Brother Martin High School. He received his business degree at Tulane University, where he was a member of the football team and still holds the record for most fumbles recovered. Jay retired from Medtronic Inc., where he was a regional manager and respected by all of his colleagues. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate his life on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Ave and W. Esplanade Ave., Metairie, LA. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A funeral mass will begin at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
