Joseph J. Lore passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in New Orleans on September 13, 1936, to the late Louis J. Lore and Katherine Illg Lore. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy Preeper Lore; children, Becky L. Gonzales (the late Bernard, Jr.), Dana Catalanotto (Dino), and Vince Lore; grandchildren, Stephanie Hodges (Adam), Alicia Gonzales, Dina Moran (Bryant), Dino Catalanotto, Jr. (Danielle), Angelina Lore, and Gino Lore (Kylie); great grandchildren, Dylan, Colby, Kaylee, Carmine, Caydence, Dino III, Giovanni, and Gianni; and sister, Jeannette Bertsch (the late Terry).
Joseph was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nicole Guagliardo; siblings, Lois Molligan (Harry), Jean Giorlando (Carlo), and Louis John Lore.
Joseph graduated from Warren Easton High School and was a diesel mechanic. He served in the United States Air Force. Joseph was a true jack of all trades, the kind of man who could fix anything. He loved to cook and enjoyed spending time in his garden. A wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home beginning at 12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm.
