Major Joseph H. Murry, Sr. passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the age of 91. Son of the late Charles and Louise Murry. Loving husband of 68 years to the late Antoinette Murry. Beloved father of Joseph H. Murry, Jr. (Jane). Grandfather of Janine and Julie Murry. Brother of the late Theresa Vaillancount, Sylvester Murry, Charles Murry, John Murry and Paul Murry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Major Murry was a 30 year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department and a distinguished veteran of the U.S Navy where he served during World War II.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00am until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
