

A native of New Orleans he was born to the late Josephine (Muhoberac) and Peter J Taliancich; preceded in death by brothers Sam, Peter, Emile, John and sister Lorraine Simons. Survived by brother Lawrence (Manny) Taliancich.
He was Blessed with 68 years of marriage to the love of his life Shirley Mae (Roby) of New Orleans. Devoted father of Craig J. Taliancich (Jaime), and the late Mark J. Taliancich. Also survived by 6 beloved granchildren: Stephanie, Amy, Aaron, Angela, Mark Jason, and Conor; and 5 great grand children.
As a member of the 443rd AAA Battalion of the U.S. Army, Joe fought in 9 major invasions in WWII from 1942-1945.
Retired after 35 years as a sales manager in the steamship industry, he became active in many church and social groups including volunteering weekly at EJGH for 20+ years.
The family would like to give thanks to Visiting Angels of GNO, especially caregivers Dierta Chapman & Dorothy Barrie for their attentive, loving care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Faith Lutheran Church, 300 Colonial Club Drive, Harahan, LA 70123 on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 12:00 pm. Visitation on Saturday in Church from 11:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
