She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gracio Salvador DeSalvo; her parents, Henry and Pearl “Dot” Virga; her sister, Angelina Virga Cross; and her brother, George Henry Virga.
Josephine is survived by her son, Stephen Gerard DeSalvo (Tanya); her daughter, Brenda Michelle DeSalvo; her two grandchildren, Gabriella Elizabeth DeSalvo and Gavin Anthony DeSalvo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Josephine was born in New Orleans on August 27, 1934. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 9:00AM until 12:00PM. A graveside service will follow the gathering at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
