Katherine Doyle Beahm died peacefully, with unwavering strength and grace, surrounded by family and loved ones on March 30th, 2026. Affectionately known as Kat by so many friends and family, she lived a life defined and guided by love. She loved friends and family with unrelenting ferocity. She was known for saying, “I love you” freely and frequently, and she meant it every single time. She understood and revered the depth, promise, and commitment that came with those sacred words, and assumed those responsibilities gladly.
Born in New Orleans June 10th, 1978, to adoring parents, Melissa and Donald Doyle, Jr., Katherine was loved and cherished. Seven years later, her baby sister, Rebecca, arrived, who immediately became Kat’s shadow and greatest admirer. Rebecca was always just a step behind, chasing after the big sister she truly adored. Together, this close-knit family shared a lasting affection and an unbreakable bond that gave Katherine a strong foundation to build her life on.
Katherine was funny, compassionate, and resolutely loving. Her friendships reflect a truly loyal and genuinely endearing nature. She was warm and interested, often making you feel like you were the most important person in the room when with her. Kat cherished the immense love and support from her entire circle, spanning family and in-laws, nieces and nephews, the Blanchard Family, the teachers, coaches, and administrators within the Newman Community, along with friends old and new.
Such a loving person would inevitably find her true love and in David Beahm, she found her partner to build a life with, as he found in her. Married for 23 years, the two of them shared everything, for they found in each other a love everlasting. More than anything, the family that they grew together, with sons, Jack and David, and daughter, Caroline, gave Katherine her true purpose. With her family at the center of her world, including their beloved dog, Ruby, she gave them her whole heart, and they loved her just as deeply. Whether it was at the countless school events she attended or chaired, the classrooms that she kept organized as room mother, the sporting events where she cheered her beloved children, family beach trips, Covey Rise weekends, lazy days by the pool, or the simplicity of a home cooked meal surrounded by her Crew – she was happiest and most fulfilled with them by her side. Watching her three children grow into adulthood was her greatest source of pride and accomplishment. From doted-on little ones to adults with the whole world ahead of them, each has grown into their own remarkable person, distinct in their owns ways, yet carrying the best of what she has passed onto them.
When Katherine was diagnosed with plasma cell leukemia and multiple myeloma, she faced it in the way she lived, with determination, strength, and resilience.
She was KAT STRONG.
She was resolute and brave, and she inspired all of us. The Doyles often reminded their daughters love is the only thing you get more of when you give it away. Kat carried that lesson with her and lived it fully, and never has there been such an overwhelming outpouring of love for her as in this past year.
Over the last twelve months, Katherine was cared for by some of the most caring, compassionate and dedicated people at both the BMT 8th floor at Ochsner and the 5th floor of the Benson Cancer Center. Her team became part of her Crew, part of her family. We will be forever grateful for them and she loved them dearly.
“May you continue to inspire us:
To enter each day with a generous heart.
To serve the call of courage and love
Until we see your beautiful face again
In that land where there is no more separation,
Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,
And where we will never lose you again.”
– a passage from “On Death of the Beloved” by John O’Donohue
Katherine will be remembered for the way she loved fully and selflessly, for her strength and warmth, and for the way she made us all feel full of heart. Her legacy of love will live on in her family and all the lives she touched. Always and Forever, Forever and Always.
A celebration of life will be held on April 16, 2026.
