Kathleen Riordan Meisner

Kathleen “Kathy” Riordan Meisner passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at the age of 63. Kathy is survived by her children Melanie Poche (Stephen) and Lee Meisner (Tammy); companion Forrest Phillips; father of her children Michael Meisner; parents Gus and Ione Riordan; siblings Kevin Riordan (Lisa), Kim Malloy (Patrick) and Karen Haile (Tom); grandchildren Bradley Bellanger, Brienne Poche, Kara Poche and Presley Meisner; great-grandchildren Mya and Madelyn Bellanger. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Kathleen was many things: a daughter, mom, companion, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt to others, but without a doubt, a friend to anyone she met. Not only beautiful, she had an easygoing personality that made you feel like what you had to say mattered to her. Thoughtful, she would listen and offer great advice or encouragement. Always upbeat, even in the face of her ovarian cancer diagnosis. She had an infectious laugh that made you just want to laugh along even if you had no idea what was so funny. Kathy owned The Decorator Shoppe Lighting Center in Metairie for many years. She had, what some would call "the touch" in that she could take any house or room and turn it into a warm, inviting, and stylish work of art. She will be greatly missed by her family & friends. For those who knew her, their life was blessed by having her in it. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Friday, September, 16 2016 at 1:00pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00am.
