Kay was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 13, 1951. She graduated from Dominican High School in 1969 and obtained her Bachelor’s degree at LSUNO (1973). She then went on to establish a career as a P.E. teacher at John Ehret High School and a sales representative at Wright Line.
Kay was a devoted parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in Metairie, Louisiana. She was a lifelong Tulane fan and a relentless Saints fan, being a season ticket holder since 1974. She was also a Muses member since 2006 and enjoyed being a riding member for many of those years. Kay had a fun-loving spirit, was cherished by all, and had too many friends to count. She was our glitter queen, big boss lady, and birthday girl all rolled into a one-of-a-kind woman and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass, held in the Chapel at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until Mass. A private burial will take place at a later date.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. J. Gurtler (and staff) for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
