Keith Edward Andrews, owner of Apolline Restaurant, attorney, CPA and founder of Desire Title Company, died Saturday July 5, 2025, at age 60 after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends. Keith lived his passions as a sailor, musician, cyclist, Rolling Elvi, tinkerer, and restaurateur and was known for his deep devotion to his many friends.
A 1983 graduate of De La Salle High School, Keith received his accounting degree from the University of Texas, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and was a 1996 graduate of Loyola Law School, where he was on the Law Review Board. Keith was a member of the University of Texas sailing team, made his campaign for the 1988 Olympic sailing team, and traveled the world racing regattas in Spain, Israel, and Ireland as a member United States Sailing Team. A member for 42 years, he served on the Governing Board of the Southern Yacht Club. Keith was a member and sponsor of the New Orleans Bicycle Club, the Tour de Louisiane, and by extension, the Louisiana racing community for many years. A hardcore cyclist, Keith competed in the 2010 Ochsner Ironman competition. Known as “Stoker Ace”, Keith shared his expertise with his cycling buddies. Keith was among the very first Memphis Mafia of the Krewe of Rolling Elvi and was always there fix a scooter, help with an event or pass on a kind word. An avid musician, Keith played the trumpet in the De La Salle band, with fellow lawyer band “The Soul Practitioners”, with Syc-A-Moe's Dixieland Jass Band at the 2005 Jazz Fest, and managed musicians. Always a tinkerer, Keith had a passion for building and flying model planes, rockets, and cars with his nieces, nephew and godchildren, and repairing vintage watches and the Apolline kitchen equipment. A horticulture hobbyist, he cultivated orchids and grafted citrus trees. On Memorial Day Weekends, Keith would be found at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, helping with the Annual Greek Festival, dancing, and participating in the revelry.
Keith started his career as an accountant beginning each morning surfing the Pacific in Huntington Beach, California. Unfortunately, his surfing talents did not translate to the “waves” of South Louisiana when he returned home to practice as a CPA with Bourgeois Bennett, and then as a maritime attorney with Chaffe McCall. In 2004, Keith started his own law firm and then Desire Title Company. But it was Apolline that allowed Keith the opportunity to flex his creativity, entertain and enjoy his employees, friends and guests. His capacity for spreading joy, kindness, compassion, humor, and sharing of his vast knowledge knew no bounds and he will be missed dearly.
Keith was predeceased by his father, William Edward Andrews, Jr. He is survived by his son Grant, his mother, Bethlehem Kottes Andrews, his sister Sharon Leslie Andrews (Hans Sinha), and his nieces and nephew Alexandra Grace Sinha, Mia Kerstin Sinha, and Anders Pati Sinha, and his beloved dog Annie. Visitation will be held at Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home, Saturday, July 12, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. for all who wish to celebrate his life. Family interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, or the charity of your choice.
