Kitty "Kiki" Bauer

Katherine “Kitty” Bauer, affectionately known to her grandchildren as “Kiki”, passed away on May 21, 2017 at the age of 67. Wife of the late Donald Bauer. Mother of Tammy Bauer Becker. Grandmother of Megan Bauer, Reed Becker, and Luke Becker. Sister of Christine Persson, Cindy Rutledge, John Persson (Becky), and the late Mabel Fisk. Daughter of the late John and Catherine Persson. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Animals were a major part of Kitty's life - a love so strong that she passed it onto her daughter and grandchildren. She donated to the ASPCA every chance she had. With her passion for animals, the family requests that memorials be made to the ASPCA in her honor and memory. Kitty was a retired teacher and proud member of the Louisiana Teachers Association. As Kiki wrote to her granddaughter, we now say to her "You are my sun in my mind's sky". You may have known her as Kitty, Turtle, Kiki, Kit, or Katherine. One things for sure, you knew her choice of clothing was usually jeans and a tshirt. She requested that people be comfortable as they celebrate her life and wear jeans and a shirt in her memory. A Catholic Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11 AM.
