

Born in New Orleans to Anthony Leo Larmann and Beryl Emig Larmann, Larry was a devoted Catholic, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, attorney, and friend. He lived by the values of faith, family, and service, teaching those around him that God comes first and family matters most.
Larry shared nearly 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife and college sweetheart, Sheila O’Haire. Together they built a family centered on faith, love, and devotion. He was the proud father of Kevin Larmann (Margaret), Laurie Friedrichs (Shelby, III), and Erin Larmann Reynaud; and devoted “Papa” to Mimi, Larry II, and Kate Larmann, Shelby Friedrichs, IV and Bailey, Brooks, and Stafford Reynaud. He was a constant presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren, never missing milestones, birthdays, games, or opportunities to say “I love you” and “I’m proud of you.”
A proud graduate of St. Francis Xavier grammar school, Class of 1954 and Jesuit High School New Orleans, Class of 1959, Larry earned his undergraduate and law degree from Loyola University New Orleans and became a respected attorney and managing partner at Hailey, McNamara, Hall, Larmann & Papale. He was known for his integrity, mentorship, and the joy of practicing law alongside his son, Kevin.
His Catholic faith guided every part of his life. He served for more than fifty years as a Eucharistic minister and lector and was deeply involved with St. Catherine of Siena Parish as parish council member, school board president, and volunteer.
Larry also served in the United States Army Reserve and was an avid runner, completing 12 marathons including the Marine Corps Marathon. He remained active throughout his life, and was a member of Metairie Country Club, Past President of the Mercy Family Center Board, member of Sandestin and DeLimon Owners Associations, the Society of the Founders of the City of New Orleans and the Beggars fraternity at Loyola.
He loved New Orleans traditions, family gatherings, Saints games, and time on the dock in Sandestin. He was known for his thoughtful letters, meticulous notes and lists, and deep loyalty.
He was preceded in death by many beloved family members including his big sister Barbara Larmann Spencer "Bobbie" and many friends and is remembered for a life defined by steadfast faith, humility, discipline, and love.

Fr. Anthony McGinn, S.J. will preside over mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church,105 Bonnabel Boulevard on Saturday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be private at a later date in the St. Catherine of Siena columbarium.
