Lex proudly served his country as a Louisiana Army National Guardsman and was a disabled veteran. He served as an Army Recruiter prior to his deployment to Iraq in 2010. During his military service, he also worked as a Homeland Security and Information Technology specialist, a role that reflected his dedication, discipline, and strong sense of duty.
Lex was a graduate of Brother Martin High School and Tulane University. Those who knew him will remember his intelligence, determination, and loyalty to the people he loved.
Above all, Lex was a devoted father to his beloved daughter, Leah Putnam. He remained close with Leah’s mother, Anarda Putnam, and their enduring friendship reflected Lex’s commitment to family.
Lex was preceded in death by his mother, Clory A. Putnam.
Lex is survived by his father, Lex B. Putnam Sr.; his daughter, Leah Putnam and her mother Anarda Putnam; and his sisters, Sandra Darensbourg and Jacqueline Epstein.
A Military Honors funeral service was held on February 10, 2026 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bastion Community for Veteran Living at joinbastion.org.
