Linda Beatrice Harrison Falgoust transitioned peacefully into Our Lord’s arms on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Sunrise Senior Living of Metairie, Louisiana. She was born in New Orleans, LA to Robert Emile Harrison and Alice Beatrice Cobb Harrison. The family moved to San Antonio, TX during her early childhood, which she remembered fondly. Upon their return to New Orleans, Linda attended Academy of the Sacred Heart and made lifelong friends in the Class of ‘56. After graduation she obtained a diploma from Soule Business College, then soon thereafter married Earl J. Falgoust, and they had one daughter, Lynnette F. Judge. Linda gracefully and competently assumed multiple roles throughout her adult life, from wife to mother, school teacher, secretary, real estate agent, tax preparer, and president of Crown Coffee Service which she and Earl founded in 1982. Meanwhile, she pursued her dream of obtaining a college degree, graduating from UNO with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Business Administration. While there, she consistently made the Dean’s List and was inducted into both the Beta Sigma Phi Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. In addition to fielding multiple careers and finishing her education, Linda actively participated in numerous historical, charitable, and social organizations including DAR (Spirit of ‘76 chapter and charter member of Pierre de Mandeville chapter), Colonial Dames 17th Century, Freedom’s Foundation of Valley Forge, Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, St. Elizabeth’s and St. Anna’s Auxiliaries, New Orleans Garden Society, New Orleans Opera Guild, Overture to the Cultural Season, and volunteered with NOMA and the New Orleans Symphony. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking gourmet meals, hosting parties, gardening, and traveling throughout Europe and the United States. Midlife she discovered she had considerable artistic talent, painting beautiful landscapes and still life pictures. She then studied and played contract bridge, achieving Bronze Life Master level by playing competitively in national tournaments. She lived true to her favorite quote, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it, you will land among the stars.” Above all, she was unwavering in her faith and, until recent years, attended daily Mass and served as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Covington, LA. She wanted everyone to know that she loved life, God, family, and friends. Linda is survived by Lynnette (Patrick); grandchildren, Nathaniel Patrick Judge (Ashley) and Colleen Marie Judge; and great-grandchildren, Blake Robert and Camille Elizabeth Judge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; her brother, Robert Charles Harrison; and her great granddaughter, Aubrey Claire Judge. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the amazing caregivers and staff at Sunrise Senior Living of Metairie and Passages Hospice for their compassionate and loving care of Linda. A memorial Mass will be held on August 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider offering Masses in Linda’s name at St. Rita Church in New Orleans, or a donation to Alz.org.
