

On Monday, November 18, 2024, Linda Ann Flaig Laporte was called home by her Lord at the age of 85. Linda was the loving wife of John M. Laporte Jr. for 65 years who visited her every day at the Nursing Home while she was undergoing therapy. Linda was born April 26, 1939. She was a very kind, passionate, understanding person and a very loving mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her beloved children John M. Laporte III (Kelly), Jill Laporte Drouant (the late Troy) and the late Julie Ann Laporte. Linda is survived by her 4 adoring grandchildren, Logan Garrett Laporte (Brooke), Langley Taylor Laporte, Addison David Drouant (Kayla) and Mason John Drouant (Kaitlyn), and her 2 great-grandchildren, Owen Mason Drouant and Elle Monroe Laporte. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence George Flaig and Alice Durand Flaig, and her brother Roger Frank Flaig. Linda will be dearly missed by her cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Linda was born and raised in New Orleans and resided in Metairie and Kenner for the last 54 years. Linda graduated from John McDonogh High School and Soule Business College. She also served as Activity Director at Metairie Healthcare, past chair of Membership Committee of AARP Chapter 4273 and a longtime member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church. The family would like to give special thanks to St. Anthony Community Care Center Staff and especially Nurses Yvonne, Meiha, Jerica, Kamica and CNA Shannon and Keekee.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 12:00PM. Visitation will begin from 10:00AM until service time. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Reverend Robert S. Malsbary, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to John Calvin Presbyterian Church, 4201 Transcontinental Dr., Metairie, LA 70006-2647, (504) 888-1375.
