

Devoted wife of the late Charles Robert Gibson Jr., much loved mother of Kevin, Keith, Kathryn, Kerry, and Kelly (Elizabeth), grandmother of Kelli Gray (Ian), Robert Grand (Jamie), Elle and Ava Gibson, and great-grandmother of the late Jaxon Grand.
Daughter of the late James Ernest Donahoe and Elizabeth Mary (Nicholas) Donahoe.
Predeceased by her siblings: Alice Bailey, Lloyd Donahoe, Gertrude DeGrasse, Henrietta Tyler and Louise Soulet.
Loralee was born on March 4, 1933 in New Orleans, and was a graduate of McDonogh #28 and John McDonogh High School.
She and Charles met through the St. Mary of the Angels C.Y.O., were married in 1952, and began raising their family in Metairie, as parishioners of St. Christopher, and later St. Andrew the Apostle, when they moved to Aurora Gardens in Algiers on the West Bank of New Orleans in 1965.
Loralee excelled in youth athletics. Later in life, she was active in volleyball, tennis and golf. She shared her passion by coaching teams of young girls at Plantation Athletic Club, Norman Playground and Behrman Gym, and was a longtime LSU, Saints, and Pelicans fan.
Loralee and Charlie enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world with life-long friends, Josie and Walter Glynn.
Loralee's love of everything Mardi Gras was infectious to all who knew her. Praised for her home cooking, friends and family said her fried shrimp po' boys were the best in New Orleans.
A devoted wife, a caring mother, a strong woman with remarkable athletic skills and a fondness for competitive sports, Loralee will continue to be loved dearly and sorely missed.
Private services were held for the family on Monday, February 3rd at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.
