Lorraine Martin Hurwitz was born on October 23, 1934 in Estevan, Saskatchewan to Jacob Cornelius Martin and Edith May Martin. She later moved to Winipeg, Canada just before beginning pre-school and resided there until she moved to New Orleans. In September of 1963, she married her husband Dr. Lowell Hurwitz and lived here ever since.
Lorraine had a long experience with COPD which came to fruition after she suffered a heart attack.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her son Ronald Hurwitz.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Lowell Hurwitz; son, Joshua Hurwitz; sister, Cheryl Babin; and grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Hurwitz.
A graveside service will be held in Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 1 p.m.
