

Louise Helen Burnstein passed away on March 11, 2016 at age 85. She is predeceased by her parents, Ray and Beatrice Sandercock; her brother, William Sandercock and her husband, George A. Burnstein, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Wasserman (Gerald) of Metairie, Louisiana, her son, George A. Burnstein, Jr. (Bridget) of Sitka, Alaska; her three grandchildren, Allison Wasserman Hoffman (Philip), Tyler Burnstein (Yolanda) and Reed Burnstein (Joan) and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Evie Hoffman. Louise was born on October 26, 1930 in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania and moved to Philadelphia where she graduated from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing and spent a forty-year nursing career at this hospital. Following her retirement, she enjoyed her involvement with the Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church as well as volunteering in other organizations. Louise moved from the Philadelphia area to Metairie, Louisiana four years ago and quickly embraced life in her new home. She made friends through affiliations with several organizations and looked forward to attending the many activities at St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church. Louise brightened the world of everyone who knew her. She was always kind, generous and helpful. She loved her trips to Destin, FL and baking for family and friends. Louise’s wonderful smile and warm personality will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
