

Funeral services for Louise Scott Gates will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., in New Orleans, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on the morning of the funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Born on December 31, 1923, Louise passed away peacefully on December 14, 2014. She was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, where she graduated from Nicholls High and attended Dominican College. She had been employed as a teacher and a bookkeeper, and she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, who proudly served as the family matriarch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Lisle Gates, Jr., her parents, Clarence Champagne Scott and Louise Winningkoff Scott, her two sisters, Rose Scott
Bayer and Geraldine Scott Pennino, and her brother, Clarence C. Scott Jr., She is survived by her five children, Andrew L. Gates, III and his wife, Janet Poole Gates of Destin FL. Mark F. Gates and his wife, Mary Reaney Gates of New Orleans, Elizabeth Gates Spadaro and her husband, James J. Spadaro, Jr., of St. Louis, MO, Hillary Gates Dart and her husband, Henry T. Dart of Covington, LA and Scott A. Gates and his wife, Jody Giardina Gates of St. Louis, MO; by her twelve grandchildren, Nicholas Gates, Jesse Gates, Bronwyn Gates Romano (Richard), Rebecca Gates, Stephanie Spadaro, Elisa Spadaro Moore (Victor), James Spadaro, III (Christina), Andrew Dart (Lauren), Evan Dart (Kimberly), Molly Dart Roberts (Tristan), Kaitlin Gates and Zachary Gates; and by her four great grandchildren, Ethan and Abigail Dart, Lauricella “Laura” Louise Romano and Joseph Moore.
