In memory of my aunt Lucila, I am going to briefly tell you about her life. She was born in Guayaquil, Republic of Ecuador. She was educated at the Manuela Cañisares school where earned her Masters. Later, she entered the University of Guayaquil to the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. She worked in a school named Republica De Chile and I was able to realize the love she had for her profession and for the children; then, she married 
Mr. Romeo Cueva. They had three children; Abel, Lucy, and Nelly. Then they emigrated to the United States to the city of New Orleans. Once in the United States, she was greatly missed by  the family because she was a simple and noble woman. I visited her twice in New Orleans and we had a very nice time. She has returned to the Lord and we will not see her again nor will I be able to speak on the phone with her and listen to her pleasant voice, but in me, she will always be in my heart and I will always remember her.




En memoria de mi tía Lucila, les voy a contar brevemente sobre su vida. Nacío en Guayaquil, República del Ecuador. Se formó en el colegio Manuela Cañisares donde se especializó en maestría. Posteriormente ingresó en la Universidad de Guayaquil a la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras. Trabajaba en una escuela llamada República De Chile y pude darme cuenta del amor que tenía por su profesión y por los niños; Entonces ella se casó con el Sr. Romeo Cueva. Tuvieron tres hijos; Abel, Lucy y Nelly. Luego emigraron a Estados Unidos a la ciudad de Nueva Orleans. Una vez en los Estados Unidos, la familia la extrañó mucho porque dejó un gran vacío porque era una mujer sencilla y noble. La visité dos veces en Nueva Orleans y la pasamos muy bien. Ella ha vuelto al Señor y no la volveremos a ver ni podré hablar por teléfono con ella y escuchar su voz agradable, pero en mí siempre estará en mi corazón y siempre la recordaré.


My sincerest condolences to Nelly and everyone whose lives were touched by this beautiful soul. My heart aches for your loss and your pain but there is joy to be found in knowing she is at peace, for she is now 'home'. May you all feel God's love and comfort in this difficult time and may she rest in eternal peace. 

My favorite memory of my abuelita is that she would make me and my sisters hotdogs every time we came over because we were picky eaters! I remember her always sitting in the living room playing solitaire with her cards. She probably taught me a million times before I finally got the hang of it. At 25 years old, I think of her every time I play it.
I miss you so much abuelita. I love you. Say hi to abuelito for me.

My memory of Mrs. Lucila was about 14 years ago  I have known her a lil longer than that, but when I had had my son Elijah which is her great grandchild she help me so much with raising him and taking care of him when I couldn’t. This woman had such a beautiful heart. She always made me fell welcome no matter what. I’m  am so bless to have known this beautiful angel. You fought a long battle no more suffering. I’m so sad that I can’t say my hello’s to you or be there to say my goodbyes to you. I know you are in a better place and I know you and your husband are finally together again. Y’all don’t have to much fun up there.  I love you until we meet again.  

I met  Senora Lucila through her wonderful  daughter Luz.  Senora Lucila was a loving, kind, and strong woman!  She showed love to me and my children, she asked for us and about us frequently.  I am blessed to have known her and so grateful I got to spend a little time with her recently.  I wish I could have given her one of her favorite cakes, which was the Chantilly cake.  I went to pick up a cake for her but the place where I used to purchased, closed down.  Although I couldn’t get the cake that day, I still will hold dear to me, her beautiful smile.  She made me feel special always and I will cherish the times over the years when I was able to enjoy some beautiful moments!  Senora Lucila, you will be truly missed...😔

Doña Lucila era una de mi tias-abuelas.  Tuve   la fortuna de visitar a ella e su familia en mi adolescencia.  Los Cuevas, son familiares de parte de padre.  Junto a los Alarcone’s, Burgos, Castañedas, Poveda’s e Rizzo’s fomentaron amor, cariño e son el nucleo de la persona que soy hoy en dia.  Mi querida gente lla duerme en paz en union de la dulce Tia Lucila.  (Alfonso, Aurora, Natalia, Gonzalo e Mercedes).  Wendy e Rudy, Conroe, Texas.

Aunt Lucilla was a great spouse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and an auntIe . You can always call her and she gives the best advice. 

The thought of my aunt Lucila Cueva bring wonderful memories of how she would light up the place around her with her laughter and love. Her memories will always be fresh in our hearts. May God be with her always.Now she reunited with her family in Heaven.  Our condolences to our cousins Lucita, Abel, Nelly Cueva, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Lucila I am so glad I met you, and your daughters, Lucy and  Nelly through your sister Mercedes.  I love your sweet countenance,  and your kindness.   I am
Thankful for the opportunities I had to pray with you, and to remain you that Jesus Christ cares for those who believe in Him.  And that He had a place for you in His kingdom.   She's finally home for good.   By Lucila, until  I join you in heaven. ❤🙏🏻


Miss Lucy and I shared a friendship despite our language barrier.  She and I laughed together as we attended our fitness classes and enjoyed each other’s company. She was sweet and thoughtful.
To the family of my FRIEND, Miss Lucy, hold fast to all your memories. You WILL see her again in heaven. There are no more troubles, tears or pain when we leave this earth. God is ever present to console each and everyone of you. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, Rest In Peace. Amen 🙏🏽.
