

Ms. Maria Elena Genovese passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the age of 57 after battling frontal lobe dementia. The heavens opened that day and the angels ushered Maria to be with her mother and father. Maria was born August 12, 1966 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a native of Covington, Louisiana. She attended St. Anthony of Padua Elementary School and Seton Academy High School. Maria was a dedicated hard worker and her career included positions at Dillard’s, the New Orleans Saints and eventually working in office administration at her brother’s business (Business Capital Risk Control) for a number of years until she was forced to retire due to her illness.
Maria was previously married and had one daughter (Jacqueline Beaubouef) from the marriage. Maria absolutely adored her mother (Armida Genovese), father (Earl Genovese) and daughter. She also was a passionate, avid lover of animals and was a “mom” to Jackie, Christie, Holly, Bella, Jack and Amy.
Maria loved the New Orleans Saints and loved Saints players Drew Brees and Archie Manning. Maria also loved to dance and free styled at all the club’s in the 80’s and early 90’s. Her childhood crushes included the band “Hall and Oates” and “Donny Osmond”. She loved to get dressed up and cut a rug. Maria was a natural beauty and she would light up a room. Maria was the epitome of a selfless person and was very much loved by her family, friends and co-workers. Her sweet demeanor and kindness will be missed.
Maria is preceded in death by her father, Earl Michael Genovese and her mother, Armida Genovese nee Morales.
Maria is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Beaubouef; her brothers, Joseph A. Genovese and Michael Genovese; her half-sisters, Patricia Guggenheimer nee Genovese and Earlene G. Weil nee Genovese; sister in law, Ann Genovese; nephews, Joshua and Michael Genovese.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1PM. Visitation will begin at 10:30AM. Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10am in Metairie Cemetery.
