Marie Blanche Wiltz Halley passed away peacefully at East Jefferson General Hospital on Friday, May 15, 2026 with family at her side at 90 years of age. Born October 31, 1935 to George Francis Wiltz, Sr and Blanche Marie Brisolara Wiltz, she graduated from St Joseph Academy and attended the Church of the King.
She was truly a social butterfly who never met a stranger. Her home was always filled with laughter, music, family, and friends, as she loved hosting gatherings and opening her doors to everyone she cared about. She especially cherished hosting family holiday celebrations with her two daughters, their husbands, her beloved grandchildren, and her siblings and their families, creating traditions and memories that her loved ones will forever hold close to their hearts.
Whether she was dancing, playing bingo, enjoying time at the casino, or simply surrounded by the people she loved, she brought warmth, joy, and energy wherever she went. Her generous spirit, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome will be deeply missed.
Above all, she deeply loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them. Her pride and joy were her three grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her, and the love she shared with them will forever remain in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Homer Halley, Jr., her parents George and Blanche Wiltz, her sisters, Juanita Marie Wiltz Larmann, Dorothy Ann Wiltz Peltier and her brothers, George F Wiltz, Rev George Francis Wiltz, Jr, SJ, and Joseph Gerald Wiltz.
She is survived by daughters, Kathleen Halley Stockton (James) and Karen Marie Halley Frey (Alan), brother, Roland Joseph Wiltz (Arlene), and grandchildren, Halley Alexandra Frey, Garrett Martin Frey, and Hayden Alan Frey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, at 11:00 AM, visitation from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
