Marilyn Golden Brinkmann peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025. She was born in New Orleans 101 years ago to the late William Peter Golden and Emily Reitmeyer Golden. She was a devoted sister to the late Emily Golden Maher, Joyce Golden Hackett, and William Peter Golden. She attended Sophie B Wright High School and graduated early to begin work at International Harvester. She had arranged to transfer to the New York City office to study dress design, but changed her plans when she fell in love with Henry Brinkmann after his return from World War II. Their first date was a dance at the Fontainebleau Hotel, hosted by the B&B sorority of which she was a member. They cherished each other for 67 years, until Henry’s passing. Loving and caring mother of Marilyn Stolzenthaler (Brent), the late Henry Brinkmann, Jr. (Wendy), Deborah Jacob (the late Michael Jacob), Brian Brinkmann (Sheri), and Bridget Helm (Tim). A very proud grandmother of Stephanie, Kevin, Alicia, Craig, Megan, Jordan, Hunter, Connor, Rory, Haley, Olivia, Katie, Annabelle, Elise, great-grandmother of 11, and great-great grandmother of two. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a talented seamstress who created her own patterns and dresses for her daughters. She loved to dance, paint and travel, but more than anything, she loved her family. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Louis King of France for over 50 years. She recited the rosary daily and had a prayer intention list as thick as her prayer book. She was greatly loved by her family and her selfless, caring personality, gentle touch, and sparkling blue eyes will be greatly missed.
