Jody moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the summer going into 3rd grade. On the first day of school, she met a young girl named Teddi, who would become her best friend and sister for life. Jody enjoyed her summers in the mountains at Camp Bellaire, taking long hikes and enjoying all water activities. She attended Brainard Junior High and then went to Chattanooga High School.
Upon graduation, she moved to New Orleans to attend Charity Hospital School of Nursing, where she would meet the love of her life, Martin Klein, then a pediatric resident. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage. Jody worked for many years as an operating room nurse at East Jefferson General Hospital. Jody loved her New Orleans - the culture, the foods, and the festivals. She immersed herself into it fully, developing many close friendships. She and Marty eventually moved to El Paso after Hurricane Katrina to be close to her children, and there, she started her life all over again. And just like Jody had been in New Orleans, she embraced El Paso - the people and the culture and became very active in Temple life. She developed many more lasting and treasured relationships with her new friends.
Jody was a wonderful and devoted mother and grandmother and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. A life full of many blessings.
Jody was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin H. Klein, MD; sisters, Vivian Levinson (Stanley) and Jeri Klein (Donald).
