

Mary Kay Buchert Andry was welcomed into her Heavenly Home after a long illness on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born in New Orleans, LA on February 1, 1950, to Gladys and James Buchert and resided in New Orleans for the greater part of her life.
She will be missed terribly by her beloved son, Brian Buchert Andry (Misa), her sister, Maurine Buchert Magne (Jacques), her nieces, Jacqueline Magne Sheridan (Patrick) and Jeanine Magne Liotta (Sean), her nephew, Jacques Magne, III (Michelle), her seven grandnieces and grandnephews, her South Korean family, and the host of family members and friends she loved so deeply.
She graduated from Fortier High School in 1967 and then attended Hotel Dieu School of Nursing, where she received her R.N. degree. She worked as an ICU nurse, Quality Assurance Professional, and Case Manager at Ochsner Foundation Hospital for the majority of her career. She also worked at Saint Charles General and East Jefferson General Hospitals. Mary Kay was an avid reader and a devout fan of LSU Baseball and the New Orleans Saints. Her favorite hobby was shopping for her loved ones for every occasion and holiday. She knew how to make people laugh, especially at the dinner table. Her friendship and humor will be missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held from 1PM -2PM with a Mass to begin at 2PM. Interment will follow at Hope Mausoleum, 4841 Canal St. New Orleans, LA.
