It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Mary Ann Taormina Miramon. After a long battle with cancer, Mary Ann joined Our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the age of 86. Born May 14, 1936 and raised in New Orleans, Mary Ann attended Mount Carmel Academy. Mary Ann moved to the Northshore in the late 1970s and found the perfect home where she would bring family together with her cooking, baking, hugs and kisses for the next 45 years. She enjoyed gardening and reading, and visited the fitness club several times a week. But most of all, she loved spending time with family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Ann’s love for family, strength and sacrifice emanated from her parents, Rosario (Sam) Taormina and Marjorie Joyner Taormina, who preceded her in death. Mary Ann is survived and deeply missed by her brother, Frank Roy Taormina and sister, Linda Taormina Brunken, her four children, Charles Anthony Giarrusso (Cindy), Anthony Kirk Giarrusso (Lou), Mark Anthony Giarruso (Roxanna), and Merri Christi Giarrusso, along with 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary Ann leaves behind her dear friend and father of her children, Cyril Giarrusso.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 444 Metairie Road, Metairie on Monday, August 29, 2022.
