

55 years before his death in 1999. Mary Ann graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1941 and earned
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Loyola University in 1945.
An only child, Mary Ann raised a remarkable family of 7 children, 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, a loving mother and a devout Catholic. She contributed enormous time and resources to scores of organizations including The Catholic Foundation, St. Elizabeth’s Guild, The Chef’s Charity for Children, The Sophie Gumbel Guild, The Cenacle, St. Michael’s Special School, the Strive Center, The Archdiocesan Spirituality Center,
The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Jesuit High School, Ursuline Academy and Loyola University.
Mary Ann was a member of numerous organizations including the Knights of Malta and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. She received scores of honors and awards, including The Catholic Foundation’s Pope John Paul II Award in October 2007.
Mary Ann worked in the Finance Department at the Port of Embarkation during WWII, routing soldiers to their various locations of service around the world. She also volunteered in the Vatican Pavilion for all 184 days of the 1984 World’s Fair.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents Angelo Glorioso and Theresa Messina Glorioso.
Mary Ann is survived by her 7 children; Ann Valentino Fuselier (Harold), Warren Paul Valentino (Cheryl), Michael Charles Valentino, Stephen Anthony Valentino, Lisette Valentino Turpin (Clarence), Debra Valentino Counce, David Peter Valentino, by her 18 Grandchildren; Harold, Scott, Prentice and Mims Fuselier, Jay, Amy and Mark Valentino, Christopher, Bradley and Emily Valentino, Jacob Valentino, Katie and Ellie Turpin, Holland, Jordan, Alexis and Caroline Counce, Grace Valentino, by her 13 great grandchildren; Arden Fuselier, Katherine and Greer Fuselier, John and Stella Fuselier, Clay Valentino, Elizabeth Valentino, Zachary and Nathan Valentino, Vincent and Ada Madeira, Miles Valentino and Luca Valentino and by her 2 step-grandchildren; Tristan Diermann and Holli Heaton.
Mary Ann’s lifelong commitment to and unconditional love for family is her grandest contribution to life and community. She was a New Orleans Girl, who loved Mardi Gras, loved her Saints and loved her community with a generous, kind, gracious spirit that touched thousands of lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visitation at 10am on Thursday March 3, 2022 at Holy Name of Jesus Church followed by a Requiem Mass at 12noon. Burial at Metairie Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ursuline Academy.
