Mary Melissa Ellis

Mary Melissa Ellis passed away Tuesday, February 24, in New Orleans, LA. The fourth child of Eugene Elllis, Jr. and Jeznette Martinez Ellis, Melissa was born June 30, 1952, in Natchez, MS, where she spent her early years. Mobile became her home when her family moved from Natchez to Mobile with International Paper Company. For the last 27 years, Melissa has called Magnolia School for special needs students her home where her older sister Sharon also resides.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Jeznette Ellis and her brother, Gene Ellis III. She is survived by her siblings, Sharon Ellis, Marcia Ellis McCullough (John), Jim Ellis (Lisa), Tom Ellis (Laura) and Ellen Ellis and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, AL on Saturday, March 7th at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Magnolia Community Services, 100 Central Ave, Jefferson LA 70121.
