Maurice Geisel Jr.

Maurice Geisel, Jr. age 79, a lifelong resident of New Orleans was born on May 15, 1937 and died on June 14, 2016. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents Maurice Geisel, Sr. and Elsie Radosti Geisel. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Geisel Johnson (Ken), his beloved cousins Patrick Pescay (Claire), Lorraine Pescay Martin (David), Floyd del Corral (Gail), Edward Geisel (Nila) and many other cousins and dear friends. He was a retired teacher and principal from the Orleans Parish School System and president of numerous educational organizations. He then worked as an accountant for various firms. He had a love for the arts and opera. He was a member of the American Bridge Association and was an avid bridge player and a “life master”.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
