Michael Nunzio Borchers

Michael Nunzio Borchers, passed on to eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 27, 2025, at the age of 71. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Kenner. He was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School in New Orleans.

Mike was a machine operator in the Aerospace Industry for Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin. He worked on the Thermal Protection System of the Space Shuttle External Tank for more than 20 years.

He was a member of the Gulf South BMW Owners Club, Inc. for 20+ years and never missed a meeting or event. He especially loved spending time with Club members, Club rides and activities including “Tech Days” and always looking forward to the next one.

He was a kind and gentle soul and always willing to help people if he could. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, during holidays and just getting together for fun and always arrived “early” for a good meal. He enjoyed eating out and exploring new restaurants. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. God blessed us with his presence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Raymond “Ray” Borchers and Rosaria “Rosie” Terranova Borchers. Also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Raymond “Kenny Ray” Borchers, Jr. and sister-in-law, Carole Buwe Borchers.

He is survived by his sister, Rosaria Cynthia “Cindy” Martinez and brother-in-law, Reginald V. Martinez, III.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Gina A. Brocato, Salvador M. Brocato, III (Lisa), Reginald V. Martinez, IV (Kristina), Meghan Martinez Spahr (James), Colleen Borchers Lombard (Troy), Christopher Borchers (Kaitlyn) and Kyle Borchers, as well as many great nieces and nephews, Aunt Merle Terranova and numerous cousins and friends.

Special thanks to his good friend, Bobby Tyner, Jr. and their lunch group who shared many good meals together with Mike.

Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
