

Michael Andre Galjour Sr, died at age 77 while hospitalized at Sanctuary at Passages in New Orleans on Thursday, August 17, after a long struggle of post-surgical complications. Michael was born on November 16, 1945, in New Orleans, he was the son of the late Eleanor Parra Galjour and Eddie Andre Galjour of New Orleans. Michael attended High School in New Orleans and served in the US Military. Upon his honorable discharge from the military in 1969, he chose a career in law enforcement for the New Orleans Civil Sheriff's office, as a Sergeant, until his retirement in 2005. Michael is survived by his loving companion and partner, Patricia Ann C. Nata (Pat) for 32 years, he was often referred to as “Paw Mike” as he was loved dearly by Patrica’s children, Scott Clement (Kelly Clement), Chad Clement (Christine Clement) and grandchildren Derek (Danielle), Macie, Dane, and Cole Clement. Michael adored his children and was a loving father to Lajeana Christina Galjour who resides in Houston, Texas, Michael Andre Galjour Jr, and Maria Alaina Galjour from his former wife. He is also survived by his siblings; Wayne Joseph Galjour, Cherie Galjour, Robin Henderson, Jeff Galjour and Lester Romaro and nephew Jason Galjour. He is preceded in death by his sister Barbara Ann Galjour and his aunt Odeal Parra. Mike was a very spiritual man and enjoyed his place of worship at St. Christopher where he attended weekly services. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, as he loved fishing and hunting in his spare time as well as, watching his favorite sports team, New Orleans Saints. He was a kind, generous person who would give you the shirt off his back, he loved being surrounded by family and enjoyed family gatherings, as he would often take the opportunity to tell you the “right” way to do something in the kitchen. His kind nature was demonstrated by the love he had for animals, especially horses. He will be very missed by his loving family and friends. Services in his honor will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans on Friday, August 25, 2023, with visitation beginning at 10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
