accident on December 18, 2020. Mikey was an amazing child and gave 200% to everything he pursued, whether it was school, work, sports, love, or just having fun. His heart was among the biggest. His love for
children and the elderly was never ending, as was his love for his family. Always giving of
himself, he signed up to be an organ donor, saving so many lives and improving countless others
on his 25th birthday, December 20, 2020. Mikey attended St. Clement of Rome, St. Philip Neri, Brother Martin High School, and was a proud graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Mechanical Engineering. From there, he landed an amazing job as a mechanical engineer for Cleco at the Big Cajun II Power Plant in New Roads, La, thanks to his boss Randy Tassin. Randy saw in Mikey what
everyone else saw—a selfless, loyal, and hardworking man. He loved having his own apartment,
truck, motorcycle, dog, and girlfriend. His dream was to build a barndominium, marry, and have
children. Mikey loved to be outside and active. As a child, he participated in many sports, like
soccer, volleyball, tennis, and cross country. As a young man, he continued volleyball and joined
Brother Martin’s chorus, wrestling team, and NJROTC program. In his fourth year of NJROTC,
Mikey was honored with the title of Rifle Team Commander and soon earned Expert Marksman,
the highest award for a Rifle Team member. Other things that he held dear were his faith (earning CYO Outstanding Member Award), truck forums, camping trips, and flags, for both the United States of America and the police force. Now, there is a third to fly— his LOPA flag for his unselfish gift of organ and tissue donation. Michael is survived by his parents Michael L. Comeaux and Loren M. Comeaux; his
sisters; Rae Elizabeth Comeaux and Christina Marie Comeaux; his niece Adeline Rae Karl; his
grandmothers; Corrine R Comeaux and Elaine S. Muro, his godchild Lina Arden Ust; aunts,
uncles, cousins, friends, and his love Sierra Harris. He is preceded in death by Sterling “Buddy” Comeaux, Jr. (grandfather), Raymond M. Muro, Jr. (grandfather), John “Johnny” Comeaux (uncle), Norman Comeaux (uncle), Madison Comeaux (cousin), and Jason Theriot (cousin). The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at St. Angela Merici Church in Metairie. The visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12 noon. A funeral mass will follow at 12 noon. There will be a procession from St. Angela to Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home for the interment after the mass. In honor of Mikey’s casual and simple way of life, we ask everyone to please come in casual, but church appropriate, attire. Gentlemen, leave the ties at home. That is the only way he would want it. Rest in peace and fly high, boy. We love you!
