Michael Anthony Schulz

Michael Anthony Schulz died on Good Friday, March 25, 2016 of complications from the H1N1 (swine) flu. He was the son of the late Malcolm Albert Anthony Schulz, Sr and Clara Lucille Melchert Schulz. Michael is survived by his wife, Kimberly Spellman Schulz, and three siblings; Dr. Naomi Ellen Schulz Mann (Dr. W. Kenneth Jr), Dr. Malcolm Albert Anthony Schulz, II (Diana DeStefano), and Mara Kerstine Schulz Coiron (George “Jack” III). He is also survived by a stepson, Michael William Young. Michael Schulz graduated from Virgil I. Grissom High School in Huntsville, AL, and from Holy Cross College in New Orleans, LA receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He worked as a petroleum chemist for NCH Corporation. Michael was a member of the Louisiana Society of Mayflower Descendants, 14th generational descent of William Bradford. He was a kind and generous person, passionate about helping others, often sacrificing his own needs. He was an advocate for homeless animals, and contributed to various animal societies and shelters. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation begins at 11:00 am, and a funeral mass at 1:00 pm.
