Mike is survived by his wife, Allison Danner, his adored sons, Michael D. Soignet and Sam R. Soignet, his mother, Lurline Boue Soignet, his sisters, Lisa Soignet Sonier (Jonathan) and Leslie A. Mike was born and raised in New Orleans, and grew up in the Irish Channel. He attended our Lady of Good Counsel for elementary school and Warren Easton High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, traveling the world and crossing the equator. He worked at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans and spent the last 23 years at the Federal Reserve Bank- New Orleans Branch. Mike loved Mardi Gras and was a member of the Krewe of Thoth.
Mike was an extraordinary man – if it was broken, he could fix it; if it was ugly, he could make it beautiful. He was an artist, a musician, a lover of red wine and good food, a collector of antiques, and a remarkable story teller with a quick wit. His general wealth of knowledge on any subject was legendary. Mike was loved and admired by many and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends, especially those on Clifford Drive.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life on Friday, Oct 8, 2021 at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 835 Melody Drive, Metairie, LA 70002.
