Monique Meariman Hemelt, 45, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 in Kenner, LA following a brief illness. She was a native New Orleanian, and graduated from Chapelle High School. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Kenner. Monique was a dedicated employee of Rouse’s Market Place, where she cultivated many treasured friendships. She is survived by her husband, Gary Paul Hemelt; children Gary Paul Hemelt, II and Noah Morris Hemelt; father Roland F. Meariman, Sr.; brothers Roland (Candice), William (Pam) and Daniel (Renee); and numerous other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother JoLynne Van Dalen Meariman and grandmother Josephine Van Dalen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment will take place following the services at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
