

Nina Nicaud Holloway passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022 at the age of 92.She was the daughter of the late Dr. Wallace M. Nicaud and Nina Harvey Nicaud. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Charles John Holloway (Inky) and her brothers Dr. Wallace Nicaud Jr., Frederick Nicaud, Harvey Nicaud, and Dr. Robert Nicaud. She is survived by her children Barbara Whitworth (Bob), Susan Sanders (Joseph), Chuck Holloway, Linda Bruno (the late Chris), and Diane Goding (Shep). Also survived by grandchildren Jan, Jay, Linda, Rick, Danielle, Paul, Holly, Kelley, Sean, Patricia, Chris Jr., Heather, Kevin, Ann, Laura, and Ellen; 37 great grandchildren and one more arriving in April; and one great great grandchild.
Nina was born on December 2, 1929. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy and attended secretarial school at Dominican College. She spent the majority of her married life as a homemaker, but worked briefly at D.H. Holmes and as a substitute teacher. Nina and Inky were active members of St. Dominic Parish for over 50 years where they taught pre-cana classes. They also enjoyed square dancing for many years. Nina was an avid bridge player and enjoyed the game for over 50 years. She volunteered at Closer Walk Ministries, a religious charity founded by her cousin Fr. Harold F. Cohen, S.J. She was a devout Catholic and maintained a special devotion to St. Theresa of the Little Flower.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Restoration Senior Living, Notre Dame Hospice, and her caregivers Loretta and Gloria.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Beau Charbonnet, at Our lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3368 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans LA 70119 on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 12:00 noon with visitation at church on Thursday beginning at 10:00. She will be laid to rest with her husband in St. Louis Cemetery #3 following Mass.
