Patrick George Carrigan, Jr.

Loving husband, father, and all around “Superman” Patrick G. Carrigan, Jr. passed away at the age of 57 on January 27, 2021. He was born on August 24, 1963 to Patrick G. Carrigan, Sr. and the late Catherine Flanagan in New Orleans. He was a class of ’81 graduate of Brother Martin and class of ’88 graduate of University of Louisiana Lafayette. He went on to work for Entergy for 27 years and later worked as Project Manager on the grid modernization team. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him as a loving husband, a proud father, a lifelong Saints fan, and an avid traveller who had a great talent for planning awesome trips (and had a special love for the National Parks in particular). He earned the title of “Superman” for the way he fought his illness with strength and determination, wanting to spend as much time with his family and loved ones as possible.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Flanagan. He is survived by: his loving wife of 30 years, Debbie Bennett Carrigan; his father, Patrick G. Carrigan, Sr.; his daughter, Meghan Carrigan; his son, Ryan Carrigan; his sister, Maureen Carrigan (Jo Constantino); and a host of loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their special gratitude to Dr. Donna Weber and the Myeloma Team at M.D. Anderson as well as Dr. Carter Davis and the Oncology Team at Ochsner for their exceptional care and dedication at doing all that they could.

Due to current COVID restrictions, a private burial will be held in anticipation of a Celebration of Pat’s Life to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests donations in Pat’s name to either the National Park Service at NPS.gov or to Halo House in Houston at HaloHouseFoundation.org, both causes dear to his heart.
