He passed away Monday July 24th 2023, at CCU EJ Hospital surrounded by loving family members.
He is survived by two sisters and one brother.
Barbara Gautreau, Judy Richard and Keith Acosta; four nephews Larry Wheat, Kenny Richard Jr., Rena Richard Ledet and Dylan Acosta; 3 great nephews Andre' Ledet, Stevie Marie Ledet and Chris Walker Wheat.
Also his wife of 46 years Mara Cleaves Acosta.
Richard was a graduate of UNO with a BS in Business. He worked for the state for many years, retiring in his early 70's.
He had a great passion for local sports especially LSU & The Saints.
He was a great provider.
We will all miss him dearly and think of him every day; his endurance with life's tragic events were dealt with ease. Always looking forward to a day in the Sun.
