Richard A. Reith

Richard A. Reith passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021. He was 78 years of age. Richard was the son of the late Valentine “Val” and Beryl Adams Reith, and the son-in-law of the late Leo and Evelyn Gerhardt Giroir; beloved husband for 53 years of Trudy Giroir Reith; loving father of Christy Reith Dupré and Robyn Reith Trinchard (Billy); grandfather of Chandler McCoy, Connor McCoy, Cayden McCoy, Tate Dupré, and Evelyn “Evie” Trinchard; and brother of Hilda Adams Otis.

Richard was born and raised in New Orleans, and attended East Jefferson High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. His career in the dental business spanned 48 years, where he worked in a variety of positions, and retired as the Director of Purchasing from Louisiana Dental in June of 2020. Richie had a deep love for LSU and Saints football. He also began the Boosters Club at Mount Carmel Academy.

We would like to extend a special thank-you to the doctors and nurses that cared for him at Ochsner Main Campus Hospital. We are grateful for the richness of his life, the honesty and loyalty of his heart, and the love of his many friends and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Ann Church and National Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Dr. in Metairie, on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 12:00PM. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:30AM. Interment will be private.
