Richard J. Schaff passed away on August 12, 2023 at 93 years of age. He was born in Metairie on April 16, 1930. Richard owned Schaff Brothers Construction alongside his brothers for many years, and he was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Metairie.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Margaret Schaff; sisters, Elizabeth S. Bensel, Margaret S. Parr, and Kathryn S. Lambert; and brothers, Louis M. Schaff and Robert F. Schaff.
He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Cheryl Guidroz; sister, Judith S. Bazile; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation and mass on Thursday, August 17 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. until mass at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow on the same grounds at All Saints Mausoleum.
