

Robert Wilton Clay, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 30, 2025. He is survived by his four siblings, Carolyn Brown (Torger), Cathleen Pfifer (Jim), David Clay, Sr. (Bonnie), and Chris Clay (Debbie), and 23 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilton Lewis Clay and Marian Rita Mouledoux Clay, his sister, Barbara Dallam (Roger deceased), his brother, Richard Clay, Sr. (Sharon), and his sister, Marilyn Cresson (William).
He grew up in Lakeview where he graduated from Brother Martin High School in 1973 where he was a member of the bowling team. He also graduated from UNO with a B.A. in business administration. For over 20 years, he worked as an accountant for Kentwood Springs Water. He was an avid sports fan especially when rooting for the Saints and LSU, always sporting his game day themed gear. He loved bowling and enjoyed playing golf. He was skilled at chess, playing with his brother, Chris, and great nephew, Spencer. He was an expert at recreating childhood Sunday meals from his mother’s recipes, and he often shared his favorites with family members. In recent years, he enjoyed crime and mystery shows and visiting with family and friends, especially in southern Louisiana. He particularly delighted in family gatherings for birthdays, crawfish boils, and oyster shucking. He will be remembered for his dry wit, caring nature, and dedication to his family.
