Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jeanne Ball and Elizabeth Arabie; and brother, Ulysses George Landry, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Audrey A. Landry; daughter, Cynthia; son, Stephen; grandchildren, Melinda Landry and Robert Landry, II (Michelle); and great-grandchild, Josie Landry.
Robert served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955, and he worked for Service Foundry and its successors for over 40 years, until he retired in 1997. He was a parishioner of St. Christopher's Church in Metairie. He loved spending time with family most of all. He also enjoyed all sports- especially horse racing and football, giving too many treats to his cat (Lucky), decorating for Christmas, fishing, telling and hearing jokes, and appreciated sarcasm.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation and Mass on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the mass beginning at 1:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate masses in Robert’s name or donations to the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Foundation, or Make-A-Wish of Texas Gulf Coast & Louisiana.
