She was a proud graduate of Mercy Academy (1982) and Cum Laude graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University (1988) where she majored in Plant Science.
Robin recognized her artistic skill to be a precious gift of God’s creation, and she flourished by sharing her talent with others. She expressed her passion for the visual arts through her precise needlework, sharp photographs, and delicate stained glass. She grounded her love for the arts in God’s raw earth, gardening flowerbeds for all to enjoy.
As an artist Robin was overjoyed when her photograph of the stained glass window “St. Francis of Assisi Meets the Sultan” was displayed in an artistic exhibition in the Basilica of St Francis in Italy.
In her church ministry, she trusted that her faith in Christ would guide her, but she refrained from preaching. She was a person of the hand, even at her most vulnerable, she dared to love. She participated with the Order of Alhambra-Cortez Caravan, a Catholic organization dedicated to assisting developmentally disabled persons, and during Mardi Gras she enjoyed photographing the Knights of Columbus’s Cortez Ball.
As an employee of “Perino’s Home and Garden Center” for over 24 years, Robin was as family and felt valued by her workplace community. Many loyal customers relied on Robin’s expert knowledge and would consistently request her assistance. “Accents in Stitches” needlework shop expressed sentiments that they were “blessed to have Robin there stitching with us for so many years. She has created such beautifully stitched pieces and we always loved seeing her next project.”
Robin enjoyed photographing and documenting stories of Veterans at the flag raising ceremony conducted at the East Jefferson Wellness Center every Veterans Day.
Robin had a passion for birding. She would spend hours quietly waiting for the opportunity take a picture or video of birds. She was always excited to see a new species and kept journals of her sightings.
Perhaps Robin’s most admirable quality was her understanding of peace. For Robin, peace was a passion, as in waiting for birds along her favorite trails, working in her flowerbeds or being at her refuge at Bob and Maxine’s home in Marengo, Indiana. Their home was a place where she could walk in the countryside and enjoy the beauty of nature. She admired the irises and flowers planted there, by the people she loved, as it brought great joy to her heart.
The joy generated by Robin’s life and art is a testament to her love and devotion to her husband Gary and family. The community who continues to be inspired by her life’s work includes:
