Rodney Louis “Monk” Guillot passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the age of 76. Proceeded in death by his parents Ida Mae and Louis George Guillot and sister, Barbara Viola. Monk is survived by his wife, Evelyn of 50 years, their sons, Clint Louis and Curt Louis (Janice), four grandchildren, Nathan, Allie, Brandon and Ella Marie, three sisters, Sherry, Judy, Suzanne and many other relatives and friends.
Born on October 15, 1938 in New Orleans. Monk graduated from Warren Easton, the city’s oldest public high school. He was a very proud Eagle and selected to the Warren Easton Hall of Fame. After high school Monk was awarded a football scholarship to LSU where he played in ’59, ’60, and ’61. During that period he played on the offense teams and the famed Chinese Bandits’ defense squad. He served in the Army National Guard and retired after 40 years as a State Farm Agent.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity preferred.
