Ronald R. Scharwath

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie Scharwath, and his daughter, Cathy Lemoine.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Constance M. Scharwath; daughters, JoAnn Gauthreaux (Roy) and Donna Jackson; sons, Keith Lemoine, Rodney Lemoine, Roger Lemoine, Allen Lemoine, and Ronald Scharwath, Jr.; grandchildren, Shannon Rodriguez (Nikki), Julie Knott (Mark), David Rodriguez (Christy), Brian Rodriguez (Rachael), Nicholas Lemoine (Audrey), Brandon Lemoine (Lora), Jamie Lemoine, Kaci Lemoine, Stephanie Joyner, Taylor Downey (Trey), Robert Scharwath, Matthew Scharwath, and Dr. Leslie Owen; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Ronald was born in New Orleans on August 17, 1932. He worked as a welder with Avondale Shipyard for 38 years and retired in 1995. He also spent time in the National Guard. Ronald was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, horses, horse racing, and aviculture (raising birds).

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice and Ochsner Home Health for their care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
