

Rosalia “Chali” Flores, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on April 14, 1935, in Guatemala and was a longtime resident of the New Orleans area.
Chali was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Mario Flores Sr.; her parents, Jose Flores and Carmen Toledo; and her siblings Angela, Olympia, Marina, Zoila, Susana, Alfonso, and Augusto.
She is survived by her devoted children, Rosa Campos (Luis) and Mario Flores Jr. (Tammie); her cherished grandchildren, Luis Campos Jr., Brenda Campos, Rosie Flores Murray (Matthew), and Mario Anthony Flores; and her adored great-grandchildren, Adriana Campos, Aleina Campos, Noah Murray, and Nathan Murray; and host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Chali loved her family deeply and treasured every moment spent with them. In pursuit of a better life and the American dream, she courageously led her family’s immigration to the United States in 1970. She proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1976 alongside her son. Chali found joy in cooking, listening to music, dancing, and visiting the casino. Her warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a brief service at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will take place at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
