

Rose Marie B. Wade slipped from her earthly bonds and ascended to Heaven on Monday, May 23, 2022, at the age of 62. Rose was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 14, 1960. She was raised in Gentilly and Metairie Louisiana. Rose lived in LaPlace, Louisiana with her husband and son.
Rose is survived by her husband of 37 years, Weldon Cecil Wade, Jr.; son Christopher Ryan Wade; mother Patricia Haley Borrello; mother in law Elsa Wade; siblings Patricia Borrello Monié (Darren) and Stephen Joseph Borrello III (Cynthia); sister in law Beverly Jill Wade; nieces and nephews Stephen Joseph Borrello IV (Daniella), Michelle Borrello Burgstiner (William) and Vincent Borrello (Olivia); grand nieces Violette Rose Borrello and Madison Elise Burgstiner as well as several cousins and aunt.
She is preceded in death by her father Stephen Joseph Borrello, Jr.; father in law Weldon Cecil Wade, Sr.; brother in law Art Dewayne Wade; grandparents Robert M. Haley (Lantha) and Stephen J. Borrello, Sr. (Thelma); uncles and aunts Robert Haley (Patsy), Ronald Haley and Pat Haley (Gaile); cousin Pat Michael Haley.
Rose graduated from St. Philip Neri Catholic School and Archbishop Chappell High School with honors. Rose attended University of New Orleans and graduated from Louisiana State University Nursing School with a RN-BSN degree.
As a registered nurse, Rose worked at East Jefferson Hospital for 38 years. She was a certified as a med surgical RN and later certified as a diabetic educator. Rose became the diabetic coordinator until her retirement in February 2021. While at E.J.G.H, she was awarded and acknowledged with several awards. The ones she was most proud of was team member of the month and becoming a great 100 nurse of Louisiana. However, it was taking care of her patients and treating them as family members that she really loved about her job.
Professionally, Rose was a member of The Association of Diabetic Care and Educator Specialist, were she was past president and served on the board of the Louisiana chapter.
Rose was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Ann Church and Shrine in Metairie, Louisiana.
She loved gardening around her home, listening to music, and rocking in her rocking chair. Her favorite past time was socializing with friends and family. Rose and her family enjoyed long vacations to the beach. Playing the Piano with Chris and her favorite holidays were Easter and Christmas.
The family of Rose would like to give a special thanks to all the individual doctors and specialists who gave exceptional care to Rose throughout her life. Thank you to all the nurses and aids who took care of her through all the hospital stays your devotion and superior care shown with each stay made her feel like family. To Rose’s nursing friends and coworkers who always had her back through difficult times, thank you. Finally, to the whole staff of Heart of Hospice on the fifth floor all of you made Rose’s last days as comfortable as possible, making sure she was not in pain. You showed great compassion towards her. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Relative and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home beginning at 10:00am, followed by a 2:00pm Funeral Mass, celebrated by Rev. Billy O’Riordan. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment in the Event Center of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.
