Ryan Joseph Pelas

Ryan Joseph Pelas passed away on January 20, 2025 at the age of 31. He was born in Gretna, Louisiana on November 18, 1993. Ryan is survived by his son Elliot; his parents, Charmin Wallace Duhe and Larry Pelas, Jr.; his grandmother, Millie Tournear Pelas; his brothers and sister, Adam Duhe, Evan Pelas, and Lauren Pelas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford Bailey Wallace, Agnes Champlin Beard, and Larry Pelas, Sr. Ryan excelled in mechanical engineering and was a gifted artist and musician. He was an academic All-American in soccer and track and field. Ryan dedicated much of his life to helping others. A private service will be held for relatives and friends at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any contributions be made in Ryan’s memory to Oxford House for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders.
