Lisa was an exceptional woman, wife, artisan and hostess. She continued to create beautiful ceramic house numbers and New Orleans themed decor at her pottery studio through 2021. Her love of all things New Orleans was also displayed in her home, There were never too many fleur de lis representations for any room, never too much purple for Mardi Gras. Every year she hand delivered home-made Christmas goodies in colorful packages. Many children of friends and relatives learned the basics of baking with Aunt Lisa. But no human was the benefactor of her most special attention-- that was reserved for her pets. It’s a joy to know she is reunited with her beloved dogs and cats.
Lisa always loved cars and racing, even as a child. She and Miles went to Talladega for NASCAR racing and to California and Indianapolis for Formula One races. Traveling in their RV was a way to visit family and friends and see amazing places. Lisa’s love of gardening, music, entertaining and welcoming friends and guests to her home was well known. Many looked forward to the annual Thoth parade party, birthday celebrations and special moments she hosted. Lisa leaves behind multitudes of friends of all ages, both near and far. We will miss her beautiful presence, and we are all better people because of her love.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to join in celebrating her life by wearing purple. A visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, February 12, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the inurnment immediately following at the All Saints Mausoleum.
