

Salvador “Poy” Reynaud passed away peacefully in his home and in the loving arms of his family on October 7, 2014. Poy was the youngest of 8 children, born on May 4, 1929 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He came to New Orleans in October 1951 and became a United States citizen shortly thereafter. Poy was a great and humble family man known for his integrity, strength, generosity, and character. He accomplished many of his life’s dreams including playing Honduran national soccer, marrying his soul mate, raising his family in America, putting his children through college, traveling the world, retiring at 64, and finding God. Poy truly savored the simplest pleasures, like watching Saints football, working in the yard, and eating Chinese food. Honoring Poy’s memory are his wife of 54 years, Haydee; children, Elena Hingle, Patricia Hallberg, and Alfredo Reynaud; their spouses, Norwood Hingle III, Guy Hallberg, and Michelle Reynaud; grandchildren, Norwood Hingle IV, Emily Hingle, Nathan Hingle, Miles Hallberg, Haydee Leigh Hallberg, Alexander Reynaud, and Christopher Reynaud; Godchildren, Ana Maria Dewenter, Maria Guerra, and Eddie Davidson. He is also survived by his beloved sisters and brothers and numerous nephews and nieces. Poy is preceded in death by his parents Emilio and Margarita; brother, Emilio Reynaud; and sister, Otilia Reynaud. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70124 on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment at Lake Lawn Park. You are welcome to attend the reception at Poy and Haydee’s house in Metairie following the service.
