

Scott Stanford Collins peacefully passed away on October 4, 2018, surrounded by his family in his home in New Orleans. Preceded in death by his parents, Annabelle Lee Williams and Scott Stanford Collins, Sr. and his former wife, June Ann Sasak Collins. Loving husband of Peggy Fredericksen Collins, father of Virginia Collins Llope (Richard), Richard Collins (Michelle), Christopher Kowalski (Aimee), Jonathan Kowalski (Kirsten), Daniel C. Rubio and Mary Rubio Bouchon (Joshua). Brother of Judy Collins Preston (James), and John Collins (Tobin). Grandfather of Daniel Llope, Joseph Llope, Clare Llope, Ally Collins, Christopher Collins, Bonnie Lynn Kowalski, Theo Stoffa Kowalski, Rafael Stoffa Kowalski, Genevieve Stoffa Kowalski, Lillian Grace Bouchon and Elizabeth Jane Bouchon.
Scott received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech and a Master’s Degree in the same discipline from the University of Michigan.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army for 21 years and attained the rank of Major. Upon retirement Scott worked at Cadillac Gage and Textron Systems. Scott led a team of engineers at Textron and developed an Armored Security Vehicle (ASV) to protect our men and women in combat.
Scott was a Freemason and Past Master of the Slidell Masonic Lodge #311 and a member of the Tammany Yacht Club having served as its Commodore. Scott enjoyed woodworking and became a craftsman of fine furniture, utensils, and children’s toys.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1210 Governor Nichols Street, New Orleans, on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Mass following at 11:00 AM.
A Second Line will follow the services. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA is preferred
